At St. Marychurch Church of England (CofE) Primary and Nursery School, we want our Relational Support Policy (previously our Behaviour Policy) to reflect our insight and understanding of the needs of our pupils and how this contributes to their ability to self-regulate and build resilience, to manage their behaviour in a positive manner, so that they can be ready to learn.
It is imperative we understand how as care givers we can offer the pupils security and relationships needed to meet individual’s wellbeing and mental health needs and guide them along their journey to becoming independent, resilient, life-long learners.
People learn to cope with all aspects of their lives with support from others and positive relationships are imperative to achieve this.
Our Relational Support Policy and supporting documents are below.
Dolphins Room is a provision designed to support the needs of pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs which cannot always be met within the classroom.
The key objective of Dolphins room is to provide early intervention for children at St Marychurch Church of England Primary School who are demonstrating a high level of SEMH need: this could be stemming from a Communication and Interaction (C and I) need, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Attachment or reduced attendance in school due to Emotionally-Based School Avoidance (EBSA).
