At St Marychurch Primary we pride ourselves on not just success, but on participation. We do our best to enter as many competitions and events as possible. Whether we win, lose or draw, our pupils enjoy the experience of the challenge!
We have our own football and netball teams, who participate in Leagues with other local primary schools. Both past and present teams have proven themselves to be dedicated to their training, showing all areas of our school ethos when competing and having some fantastic results. The children also show themselves to be very competitive - along with their coaches!
Every year, we aim that children from all classes will get the opportunity to represent St Marychurch Primary by participating in festivals and intra school events that are organised by our partner secondary school, St Cuthbert Mayne. Some of these festivals include: netball, swimming, quicksticks and indoor athletics.
Another festival we regularly attend is the 'A Games'. This is organised and held at St Cuthbert Mayne and encourages children who do not normally participate, to see PE differently. These A Games are also attended by other local primary schools.
We currently have three football teams: boys year 3/4 (A&B teams), boys year 5/6 (A&B teams) and girls year 5/6 - all of whom have been very successful in their respective Football Leagues.
